Starting out with the Ergodox EZ

As a climber and a developer, my forearms see a fair bit of (over)use. I think a split keyboard will help with this, as will real keys (and not the short-press keys on knockoff Apple keyboards). Why test this out with a $300 keyboard? Because it’s super cool! I don’t have the time or space to build my own, so the Ergodox seems like the best option.

Building a Raspberry Pi Cluster

Johnny (my roommate) and I were quite excited when the Raspberry Pi 4 released this week. Johnny has been talking about building a cluster with Pi’s, as a means of learning about cluster orchestration, continuous integration, load balancing / autoscaling, and distributed data processing. As I usually do, I’m keen to hitch myself to Johnny’s car and learn a little bit about how this stuff works. We’re just about to order our materials, but I’ve decided to do some research into what this project will entail.

Fixing slow wifi on my Arch install

Our wifi at work was slow (~16 Mbit/s), so I ordered us a new modem. Lo and behold, our speed went almost up to 120…on my colleagues computer. I was still stuck at 16. What gives?
